Troy's Kiting Performances:
€ Troy Gunn's kite flying performances include, the flying of Multiple sport kites at one time by himself. This includes flying two sport kites at the same time, or flying a dual line and quad line sport kite at the same time! In between sport kite performances, Troy entertains people by flying many of his large single line kites. When the opportunity is available, Troy also performs indoor sport kite demonstrations, without wind or fans of any kind!

Kite Awards and Achievements:
€ Troy Gunn holds the world duration record for flying two sport kites at the same time, without crashing the kites. On September 17, 1993 as a kick off to the 1st Clinton Kite Festival in Clinton, Oklahoma, Troy flew one kite from his waist and the second kite from his hands to break the world record that was once held by Ray Bethell. (note: Ray Bethell now holds the 3 kite world record). Troy's record information was listed in the 1993 Winter Issue of American Kite Magazine Volume 6 Issue 4.
€ Troy won the AKA Open Freestyle/ Innovative AKA Grand National Championship in 1997, and has won or placed in the top 3 at several American Kitefliers Association Grand National Championships, and Regional competitions.
€ Troy won the "Best of Show" for his two sport kite performance in the Mystery Choreography Kite Competition at the 2004 Washington State International Kite Festival in Long Beach, Washington USA.
€ Troy is a multi talented sport kite flyer and has competed in, and won competitions in, Sport Kite Team, pairs team, and Individual dual line, quad line, quad line stacks/trains, and indoor competitions since the late 1980's even though, Troy actually started sport kite flying as an adult in 1985.
€ Troy co-authored the American Kite Fliers Association (AKA) manual about team flying, named "Team Flying Basics". Which was designed as a tool to teach potential sport kite team flyers, the basics fundamentals of sport kite team flying.
€ Troy has served for many years on the AKA Board of Directors, and was AKA Region 8 Director for many years.
€ In 1999 Troy was choosen as AKA Regional Director of the year for all of North America.
€ Troy was the AKA Central sport kite conference commissioner for many years, and serves, or has served on the following AKA committees:
- Sport Kite, membership, nominations, Traction/buggy, safety and ethics.
€ Troy also serves as a Director at large for kitelife.com internet kite magazine, where he writes kite festival reports and stories, and actively secures other festival reports from different events from all over the world.
€ Troy has served as Chief judge and head judge for events all over North America, and has conducted judging seminars on many occassions.
€ Troy was choosen to represent the American Kitefliers Association, as a judge in the 1st World Sport Kite Championships, that was to be held in Langkawi, Malaysia in the year 2000.
€ Troy is a member (since 2004) of the International Kite Federation committee, based in Weifang, China.
€ Troy is a member (since 2008) of the International Kite Federation's competitions committee, based in Weifang, China.
€ Troy was one of the seven chosen judges at the 1st Weifang World Kite Championships in Weifang, China in April 2005.
€ Troy was one of the five chosen judges at the 2nd Weifang World Kite Championships in Weifang, China in April 2006.
€ Troy was chosen to serve as the Chief Judge at the 3rd Weifang World Kite Championships in Weifang, China in April 2007.
€ Troy worked with the Weifang Intl Kite Festival committee and the International Kite Federation, translating from english to Chinese, the International Rules Book for sport kite competitions, and then teaching the Chinese how to organize and judge sport kite competitions.

What's New?:
€ Troy was chosen as the 2007-2008 official spokesperson for TXU/Oncor Electric Delivery's "Fly High, Fly Safe" promotion, where Troy travels around Texas with TXU/Oncor management, and conducts seminars for school children, about kite flying safety around electrical power lines. Troy also appears in some of the TXU/Oncor television commercials, promoting power line/kite flying safety.
Troy was recently nominated to the International Kite Federation's (IKF) competitions committee in 2008.
Other Kiting Activities:
€ Troy often gets invited to schools to speak on the history of kites, Kite safety, and kite flying. During those school visits, Troy also instructs kite building work shops for the children, and then concludes the school visits with special sport kite flying routines, choreographed to music or without music, and flying very large single/string line kites.
€ Troy is available to perform kite demonstrations anywhere!
